My sister has been with her husband for almost 6 years now. They have two little girls who mean the world to me. Recently my sister found out that her husband has been getting drunk behind her back every single day for the last couple years. We have an alcoholic parent and he knows what we have been through with that. My sister has asked him more times than I probably even know not to drink and especially not to drink around the kids. They have had major fights over his drinking and every time they fight she finds out something else that he has been hiding from her. Recently her husband smacked their youngest daughter and my sister automatically took both kids out of the house and they stayed with my mom. She has told me more than once that the kids are scared of him and that she is worried he is really rough with them when she is working. (She works constantly to make ends meet) That night she found empty liquor bottles (the little shot ones) stuffed behind the seats in the car and found out he had been driving the girls around drunk. She said that this was it and she was going to divorce him but then he swore up and down he would get help and it wouldn't happen again. Now she wants to help him. It's a cycle and it goes like this every time. I am worried for her safety but mainly for the safety of my nieces. I do not think that is a situation any of them should be in. He gets a temper when he drinks and I think it is just going to keep getting worse and worse. I don't know what to do. I do not want those kids to grow up like that. We did and it was horrible and those baby girls deserve so much better. What do I do?
