Just going to say,,, you better hope your 9 year old, does not reveal this to any outside source, your going to end up with deeper problems,, cpc steps in you could have those kids taken away,,,

I can't imagine what your going through,, so sorry ,,, being angry right is not going to help your situation,, you need to come up with a plan, one that involves a safety net for those kids,, or not work,,, 1 beer or 10 beers does not matter your husband is allergic to it,,,

Last night when I called home I had to ask my son if his dad was drinking and he said no..but I knew when I got home. My boy said when I asked him bout it that dad only had 1. Sad to say Ive already been to CPS and kids were questioned along with my H and I. I had another private meeting with the CPS and discussed my options but I wasn't working at the time...now that I need to go out to work I cant trust to leave them home with him. I just cant get through to him anymore and don't want to leave my 2 yr. Old let alone the other 2 kids alone with him drinking...

My job is going great! I enjoy getting out and making some money and interacting with different people every day. I am very happy with it and just wish I could trust my H. Hes gone somewhere now out getting gas and probably more beer. He has the next two days off and Im going to work during the day and hoping he will not be drinking. Might just take my 2 yr. Old to babysitter anyway..and the other two will be in school.

I know this is hard, your going to work and yet you still have to worry. Your husband will say he is not going to drink, but know he is and he is going to lie about how much he drank. He was lying before and just because you got a job he is not going to stop. I hope you get to make some better choices in this next year. Unfortunately I do not thin ah is going to stop.
I hope you can get a babysitter for 2 yr old and this will ease your mind. Getting out and working is good for you!

Katrinka u were right. Today I worked from 9:15-2 and when I came home I knew he had been drinking. Our 7 yr. Old girl also stayed home sick today and I guess I'm pretty stupid to think he wouldn't be drinking all day on his day off! He continued to drink for rest of the day and night and our house is in chaos over it! Hes so annoying while drunk texting his sister about Christmas acting high n mighty telling the same story over and over..My 2 oldest 9 and 7 fight n argue and hurt each other. My 9 yr. Old screams at me and kicks things and ends up getting threatened by his father. My 9 yr. Old slammed the door and 2 yr. Old starts screaming and I think shes hurt...But she wasn't thank goodness! H is about oblivious to anything going on and I am so sick and tired of his attitude. He knows I don't like him drinking and he does it anyway. I used to feel bad as if I were somehow better then he would stop but coming to this site and learning about the addiction made me realize that wasn't true. Its been almost a year since my first and only ever Alanon meting and I am finally beginning to truly see this is only getting worse..not better for anyone. I do not want to live this way anymore! I'm going to turn in my papaerwork for a low income apt. And the wait is 3-6 mos. Hopefully sooner. I wont say anything to him again about it. I already told him I had the papers to get apt. And he acts like nothing is different and certainly isn't trying to change. Tomorrow hes off and I work 10-6. I have a wonderful friend who will watch my baby for me so I should drop her off tomorrow instead of leaving her home with drunk... her phone is out of min. And I will try to call her emergency # or her cousins phone which she just gave me a few days ago. She says shes always there though and I could count on it so ...cant believe my H is such a pain in my ass and now I have to take my baby somewhere else which would make me worry less. So that's it for now. Its going to ne crazy doing this but I can no longer count on him and never could either! What a waste of life...

Threats never work, I used to think that you. If I threaten with leaving he would change. Found out that is not true, so I left and my life became so much more less stressful.
I hope you can get a place sooner then later, but if not at least you feel like you have been in-power more.

Why do I always bitch at him and then feel like I overreacted ? We have 3 kids and we go about life trying to be happy for the kids and taking care of our family. He stays sober all day yesterday and expects me to be all lovey dovey with him. I feel so stupid! And sometimes Im just not into it. He will be a complete asshole one day or 5 days until I go ballistic on him and he'll stay sober a day and kiss my Butt all day. He expects me to just forget and move on and keep sticking around while he tries not to drink for four days...and then it starts all over again!

When I was married to ah I began to notice our cycle. Not all the days were bad and that is why we stay so long in these marriages always hoping things will change. I think if you start to make mental notes of this his cycle you will began to see a pattern. You are not stupid just a woman who really has hopes and dreams he will change and you life will become as you imagine when you first married him.
Start writing down the things he does and says when drinking, and see if that doesn't help you see that he is not going to change, so it is up to you to decide on how you want to live your life. We get stuck in the day to day living and chaos with the addict that before we know it the days turn into months and then into years with no changes what so ever.
