I went with my daughter to her suboxone doctor's office today and met the mother of another addict. She came into the office first and spoke to the receptionist before her daughter came into the office, she was really upset and I could see how stressed out she was, when the doctor called her daughter in she asked if Mom was coming in and she sais flat out NO. While my daughter was getting her paperwork she needed this women turned to me shook her head and said I can't take this anymore I've been dealing with this for 8 years. We talked a little and she told me she'd been too all kind of meetings, physc doctor's and hospital's but she hasn't gotten any support, she said no one understands. I could feel her pain, I asked her if she had a pen and a piece of paper and gave her the address to this site. I tried to explain a little bit about our group and how much help I've gotten since I've joined. She told me a little bit about her daughter and some of the things she'd been through, I told her she would get help and support from the ladies here. I hope I did the right thing, I really hope she looks us up to see what this group can offer. I felt so bad for her when I left she looked so lost and alone. I don't know what she will decide to do but I am going to say a prayer for her and her daughter tonight and pray they both find the support they need.

It's great you could help another person. I can tell how much you have grown since you first came to this site. Hopefully she will visit this site and get some help. Even lurking, she will see she is not alone.

Offering support and resources is always the right thing. I often refer people to this site. Not only this addictions group, but to Daily Strength in general.

maybe this group doesn't have all the answers but I don't know where I would be without it. we understand like no one else cause we've been there and learned what helps and what doesn't help. mostly I've learned about the mistakes I have made and I won't be doing them again...one day at a time

it feels good to be able to help someone who is dealing with this nightmare we are all in. And it feels so good to be a part of this group and know that there are folks out there who understand our pain, anguish, what have you. I am constantly talking about this site, it saved my life and I have to share it with anyone who may need it. Pat you have come so far and I know you made that mom feel a little bit of hope when she needed it. Good job keep up the great work and awesome attitude!!
