Why is he contacting you? Is he leaving harassing messages? If so, bring the phone with you to the police station and get a protective order for harassment. Show them the number of times he is calling.
Of course, you can get a new phone numbers. If you have a house phone, change the number and unlist the phone number. If you have a cell, change your cell number and give it to only those who need it. Since your son is living with you, there is no need for your ex to need to get in touch with you regarding your son. I assume the college has your number listed as an emergency contact and perhaps your ex's as well.
