So as I was literally writing a new journal entry that my son was doing great-we get a call. He is asking to come home due to a problem at the rehab program. There's so much more of this story that I could bore you all with, but I won't. It's really another bump in the road. He's coming home and yes, I wish it were under more favorable conditions, but...

He's recovered from addiction, his head is straight and we are praying that he is truly a responsible human being that will think a few steps ahead to his future.

Please, all my friends, pray for me!

How long was he there?
I am sorry if you told us already. Do you have your boundaries in place for his return?
I hope you handle this well, and don't get in over your head, emotionally. The excitement of seeing him, and letting go of worry. Being a parent is hard.

I'm praying momma,,,just keep your bondaries,this his recovery, it may not be where you want it to be,, but it is better then where he was

Agreeing in prayer for you and your son.. Sweetie, remember that this is his recovery.. Support him in sobriety and use the "tools" you've got for detaching, so you don't get swept up.. Keep us posted, ok?

What was the problem at the rehab? Whenever ah had problems with rehab it was because he did not want to follow the rules and really did not want to be sober. He would complain, but the rehab was not really the problem. He would relapse very quickly. In rehab they have rules and restrictions because addicts do not like to play by the rules. I wish you the best, but hope you lock up everything. Am I correct in that he is 27 years old? Have a plan for what you are going to do should he relapse.

I will keep you all in my prayers. he has learned the tools, try not to worry. like the others said, this is his recovery. detach. but I know how hard it is and how the worry comes back. hugs

You are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope everything works out for all of you. My son's problem when he was in detox was that he didn't like the rule they had about no smoking. He only stayed one night and walked out the next morning. This happened both times he was in detox. He never even made it as far as rehab because detox takes 3 days. I wish all the best for your son.

the one thing that stood out to me was the word recovered. In my opinion they are in recovery for the rest of their lives they don't just recover from their addicction and its all done but I am sure you know this. Best of luck to you syaty strong, set the ground rules right from the beginning. Remember they do better when we stay strong and firm... Keep us posted on his and your recovery we all care and pray for the very best outcome!

Wow, you are all so awesome. It's going great. He has a plan. I see no sign that he will relapse. He's solid and secure.

Will update as time goes by. But for now we are totally enjoying his visit!
