You do whatever the heck you want to...you deserve it.
I am having Christmas at my house. We downsized and are the farthest away, but we drove to everyone else's house the last 25 or 30 years, so the family decided it was our turn...Kind of funny, but I am nervous...and it is just my brother, sister and mom and cousins and their families....only about 13-15...thanksgiving was 33...
You could always book into a B&B- or tell everyone you are!
I am going to go look at yelp reviews for a massage.
The massage was just what was needed. Try groupon. Best deals out there.
Blue I used to do every holiday for years and years. It's funny now because all the years so breaking my back and catering to everyone seems to have meant nothing. (Excluding the kids) not one person I catered to even called me to wish me a Happy or Merry in the past couple of years...let alone invite me. I think I'm the black sheep with imperfect kids. Wonder how they would feel if they really knew how hard and lonely it could be as an addicts mom. All I can say is God blessed me with the most incredible friends who mean more to me then the selfish family I was born into
so I stopped,
THEN they got in contact..."Hey, where is our stuff?"
I am back in contact with the youngest nephew....sent an expensive wedding gift to show support and love....marriage didn't make it 6 months. Sigh. I will never be so open again...still in contact, but they just don't appreciate things...work....time...effort.
Their loss. You are right, we can make our own families....Mine really is my family...but it is mostly 3rd or 4th cousins, and we all get together...zany, but good. we had 4 new cousins find us via ancestry.com. the more the merrier.
I hope you get into that new condo, maybe it will be the beginning of new things. We can only hope, right?
Hugs,
Pat
