honestly, enough is enough
can you just walk away and leave him in the ER . i know it's hard but i worry about you.
damn it, it is enough to give anyone a heart attack.
He called me several times to come back that he was going back in. I didn't. I just kept driving and landed on my best friends couch with a glass of wine and some incredible support.
I haven't heard anything. So I'm praying that's a good sign that he's in. Nothing left to do now except wait and take care of me and the dog.
Once again I don't know what I would do without the kindness and support from all my friends on here.
Today (and always) praying for all our addicts.
Djruawake..I try so hard to be the best mom I can. Most days I feel like a failure. Based on where I came from and what I lived thru I had nothing to measure myself with. So thank you for saying that. Means the world to me. We all do our best and make our mistakes. Life doesn't give us redo's. How I wish it did sometimes.
Miss maple...I love reading your replies. You have amazing insight. Appreciate your words
This site changed me. I was hard when I got here and thought best to maybe leave. I'm glad I didn't. I've learned compassion and love from total strangers. I now have learned that I don't know everything about this drug epidemic. There are many ways to see things.
I will always for the rest of my life give back. Will keep you all updated. I need you to be strong for me. Xoxo
You are really brave as you're seeing your son buying heroin in front of you. I'm glad things are working out now as of this time. You're doing great! So proud of you :)
Say you're burnt out, leave, and tell them he is a danger to himself. That he should be certified under the mental health act, and needs medical attention. If not you'll complain to the hospital's patient relations department (every hospital has one, it may not be named that way).
Having said that, and as a mom of a heroin (and you name the drugs) user, unless he wants to quit there is nothing we can do.
Michael Pond wrote a book The couch of willingness" I'd recommend it..it's about his journey through substance abuse.
Good luck.
