My 28 year old son is an opiate addict. I found this group a little over a year ago and you have all been a tremendous source of support for me. We have been trying to get him into a long term rehab program, but that's tough when you don't have insurance (because you don't work!). Sometime during the night, he found peace and his own long term rehab. He overdosed and I found him dead this morning. It is my worst nightmare. Every time I opened that bedroom door, I held my breath because this is exactly what I so feared. He has been so upbeat this past week. He was going to move with a friend to another state, had a job and a place to stay. His stuff is packed and awaiting his ride. He seemed to be doing better. He was awake, alert and interactive this past week. I will miss him terribly and am just numb as I type this. I want to thank you all for your words of wisdom and support. I don't post often, but I read almost every day and will continue to turn here for help and support as I begin this horrible journey without my "baby" boy. Thanks again.
