Happy New Year to all the amazing people on DS. I am usually here a lot more but this month was crazy! I took a part time job on top of my full time job to pay one of my kid's bills who screwed up. It was the 19 year old college girl so for her I worked extra hard to make sure she still gets to go to her private college next semester. She made a mistake but knows it and because she has worked so hard to get there I am wanting to help her. Justin never stayed at the treatment center for more than 3 days and the local mental hospital called me to discuss him coming back home and I never took the call so I honestly have no idea where he is..... I am sad that my son is not home with us and sad that he refused the help and treatment when it was offered but I am accepting that we all did everything we could for him and nothing we did was what he needed and this time he must find what he needs all by himself. Thats the bottom line and I finally get it and God has a plan for my son and I have finally moved out of the way.
Did I mention that we had an amazing Christmas? On Christmas Eve I took my two younger kids to the Rescue mission to serve lunch to our cities homeless. It was eyeopening and life affirming at the same time. It was freezing cold and people stood outside for hours waiting for their meal. My kids had the I wants this year more than ever and I needed them to know what others want.. I may never save my son but I will help others who are in need and who have reached for our hands.
as we opened all of our wonderful gifts that evening my older daughter had my grandson Jett open a gift that said "I am the big brother now" so we are now expecting grandbaby number 2 and I am thrilled and excited for this new one to join our family next summer. The circle of life is continuing in our family and I could not be happier! Life goes on in this addicts family and all though a day does not go by when I don't think of Justin I am not consummed with worry for him. Happy New Year to all of you. My wish for everyone is that they have Peace.
