Well where do I begin? So much has happened in the past month. I found the perfect apartment for my family in mid march , then my addict bf's brother in law passed away in the end of March ( the one that I usually referred to as scum bag) He had just turned 42 earlier in the week and was found dead, it was all over the news and in the paper. They say he passed of a heart attack but more than likely was consistent with the cocktail of drugs he had consumed that night. My bf is very upset of course and I feel so bad for his sister as well. I didnt hate the guy, I just didnt like the things he and my bf would do when they were together. My bf decided that he was done with the addict lifestyle at that point. He knows that it just of easily could have been him and he does not want to die and lose his family. My bf's "episodes" have been few and far between since the end of last year but when they were happening, they were bad. He would go for long periods of NOT USING and then would screw up and it would be so horrible. Now he has found God in his life, we moved out of Brooklyn into a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment. He has been going to work everyday, praying everyday and going to church every weekend. He is so different now. Today is 30 days SOBER for him. And this time I know he is SOBER and not just NOT USING. He has taken a whole new lifestyle on and the changes are incredible. Im so very proud of him. I know that it is a long road ahead and that it is not going to be easy but he has a great support system in place and is now in an area that is condusive to recovery. He has the tools he needs to succeed. Thanks for listening.
