Well on Monday I came to a realization that there is no easy way to get through this journey I'm on. I kept searching and searching for the answer to how to stop the insanity. Then I realized that there is no magic way. I have to do this myself. One day at a time, with god's help and support from groups and friends.
I don't know where my daughter is, I do know she made it back to Bakersfield and she had told her aunt her car was towed back to Bakersfield. Well another lie, actually her car was towed to a shop in Santa Barbara Ca. and there is a lien against it. I'm thankful she is not able to drive now. She was driving all around the state under the influence.
I have to tell myself she has to be the one to take care of herself.
I'm so grateful for my grandsons, there bring me such happiness. But I wish this wasn't so painful. I go to asleep and wake up with her on my mind. But I have to let go and let god take care of her.
I want to be happy. So here is to one day at a time.
I hope all of us that struggle and are on this journey finds some peace today.

you are right...we have no control except how we try to deal with the insanity.
I am glad she is not driving too. When my son got his last dui....I had the car towed away. done. That was the best thing I could do...save others and wait for him to make better decisions.
Like you, I need to choose to be happy. We can decide that we won't let the tragedy of our addicted children's misadventures destroy us. It is painful, but we need to put that hurt on the back burner and focus on the love in our life, and to be grateful for all the blessings we have to be grateful for. It's exactly as you say: "Let go and let God take care of her". Hold her in your heart with deep love, and then as much as possible, turn your face to the brighter things in life.
