Living with an active addict is extremely difficult. Does he have sober moments where he is able to see how terrible his behavior is? Are there lucid times when he verbalizes wanting to get well? Please be safe and consider the recommendation from the other post about seeking support for abused women.
I understand that the physical push was not what you see as anything me than pushing off a hug but the mental and emotional abuse is there. Living life walking on eggshells so as not to upset him is concerning. What would happen if you were honest with him? Didn't cook or clean one day? Told him if he doesn't get sober your leaving?
Please please be safe. I do hope this job works out so you can have some money to your name and hopefully find a way out of this or convince him to get help with his drinking.
Can anyone other than your husband take care of your son?
Alcoholics think they can do what they say...they don't mean to lie...but they are liars....they are sick.
