Of my children who are of legal drinking age only one gave me problems with drugs and alcohol. The 31 one yr and 23 drank alittle but decided it wasn't for them. The 28 yr old quit drugs when she was about 22 and now drinks but knows she could develope a problem and has curbed her drinking. I think my kids did so well because they were active in sports, band, art and were not allowed to go to just anyones house or stay our later then curfew. I did have trouble with the 29 yr old but held to the rule my house my rules.
My 13 yr old is a well balance kid not allowed to go to people house I think drink and has a really great aunt who does lots with her. She is incourage to do things that interest her and keep grades up. The other thing I did was always talked that after highschool there is college, what do you want to do. But you need to further your education and do something you love. You don't have to be rich but love your job.
Of my brothers and sisters I was the only one who never did drugs or drank.
