I do not believe he is not drinking at his Moms. He did not just stop drinking..without detox help. I am/was an alcoholic...I could drink a 6 pack and no one would even know I was drinking. It took a 6 pack just to make me feel normal. And even sometimes after the 6 pack..moving on to 12-15 beers..no one knew.
I know you don't want a divorce or to be separated but in the long run if he can't stop being "sick" than you need to protect yourself.
You made the boundary and now for yourself and for him you have to stick to it. Time heals everything. Hasn't your home been more peaceful since he has been gone? Have you been sleeping better? This will take years off your life (if you let him back in while he is "sick"). It will also bring you into a deeper depression if you fall back on your boundaries.
I can hear the pain in your posting. I understand it is a hard transition. But it is a necessary transition. Pat yourself on the back and try to ENJOY your day.
