Hello Friends, just wanted to offer some optomism. Yesterday my son celebrated 90 Days cleanIt!!!!!!!
It was bitter sweet and very scary for me, because while he was so happy, I lost my best friend on Wednesday in a Tragic car accident 59 years old,and a beautiful sole.She was like a second Mom to my son. It was our sons who brought us together.
I didn't want my son to see it on Facebook so I told him,at first he said he was ok, then later when we spoke he was crying. We talked and I explained that she was in our life when we needed her most ( I realized that last night) he later talk with her son, and they cried together. I told my son make sure you go to your group and be around your support system.
( I am nervous because I'm in NJ and he is in Florida and I just wanted to be there to hug him) When we spoke late last night he sounded strong and we were laughing and he had his 90 day key.
He said Mom 90 days is great, and I said every day clean is great and I'm so proud of you. I realize that in our lose he now knows where to go to get the support he needs.
Just like in my time I need I know where to go and its here with my friends.

I have told the story before, but the day my son got off the bus from rehab, he found out his friend was dead from an OD. He walked into the meeting 20 minutes later and announced he was just out, and his just found out his friend was dead, and needed help and numbers...and he got them. That is why I love the fact that my son has a sponsor too...Yoda, the man who knows how to handle this better than we do.
My deepest sympathies on losing a friend. My highest joys for having a recovering child.
