i just got my power back from the storm and it was trying no phones tv lights and cell phones but so many poor people had it worse than me. I just read that 45 people were killed in NY and two of them were too little boys driving with their mom on staten island whose car got hit by a wave and washed them out what a shame my heart and prayers go out to all those lost. I know new Jersey was hit very hard as well with 14 deaths so it really puts things in perspective, So many people here on long island use oil to heat their homes and so without the power they are cold as well as dark. We have gas heat so we were lucky. I have to go read everyones posts to catch up I feel so lost and now I'm found. i missed all you guys. Dee
You are lucky to be back with power...my sister in Mt. lakes has none, and now has to walk blocks to her home because working on the downed trees actually made the situation worse.
My mom in westchester will be at least until the 10th, and they have a generator, but are running out of gas. My brother in Ct. did not lose his house, but they have no road or utilities...BUT everyone lived and so we are rejoicing. Out here in Ohio? we lost electric briefly...but some 250K are still without. Hell of a storm!!!!
