My addict is alive ; until the addiction becomes worse then the pleasure of the drug, the addict has no reason to stop

If I could just reach out to one person, with my message of boundaries, and sticking to them,,,

When dealing with an addict,, there are no gray areas, it's pretty much black and white, their addiction which is a disease of the mind, body and soul takes over their meaning of everyday life,,, the symptom is the drug they use to cope with life, it feels good in the beginning, which there is no definite time to when that feeling ends, and of course if we continue to feed into that "good feeling" could last forever,,, the term hate the addict, love the person is important, and actions speak louder then words,, we can continue to speak words of threats, but then it just fades away, and is wasted air, or we can speak, and say what we mean, and mean what we say, becomes the action method , which then allowes us to love that person, that the addiction has taken over,, every addict is the same regardless of their status, but the situation can be changed, if we stop the addict from controlling our life, which we all know that we can't control them, but most deffinetly control ourselves,,, in spiritual terms that is the free will God gave us,, in everyday terms it's called fight for your right!,
The hardest moment of my life, was 4 weeks ago today, when my addict choose to leave, because of the boundaries we set( which together we agreed on) I knew in my heart, soul and mind, that if I gave in, I would of been the one that was killing her. Trust me these last four weeks have been filled with so many emotions, including guilt, but standing strong, never giving up, but refusing to give in, I made my addict realize that only she can make changes, with the tools of love, wisdom and comfort that I provided her.
The world of an addicts life , is dirty, dark and inconceivable, and there are things I do not want to know, but have learned they are survivors, if only you allow them to be. The many phone calls I received through out the last 4 weeks of desperation was deffinetly heart breaking , but with each conversation realized she was not ready to get help, until she was ready all I could do was pray,
Today she called,, and wants help , I gave her numbers to a sober living home, women's shelter, and salvation army, and told her I love her, and whatever she had done in the past, is just that,, at the end of the day, she will always be that little girl, that is an amazing young women I am proud to call my daughter,,,,
My point is, the importance of boundaries , and sticking to them,,, you can love an addict from afar, or up close , but it's your decision how to live with one,,,

Never give up,,, where there is life there is hope,,, it takes perservance, strength , and lots of love,,, I believe , that this time my addict will realize the importance of family ,,, and that " momma" is always right

I will continue holding the light that shines through the darkness, and at the finish line I will be the first person to embrace her!
