awww marg. I am so sorry that you are going through this. it sucks big time to not know where he is. I pray he will at least give you a call and I will pray for the whole situation. hugs xoxo

I felt the saddest, most desperate, and terrified when I went days (or weeks) without hearing from my son. You are not alone, and I believe we all know the pain you are feeling. I will keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all for the support.. It means everything to me! I did go to my meeting last night and it was so very emotional and educational... We discussed holidays and as parents we of course all want our loved ones home with us to do all of our family traditions and what not but the treatment center workers all stressed how the holidays are super hard for addicts and being home with us is not in their best interest. I thought that was so interesting... They explained the pressure it puts on the addict to try and appear well and normal when just a month ago they were out on the streets smoking crack or whatever their drug of choice was! It justhit home for me bacuase all last year I was so happy having my son home for all these family events and it was killing him in fact he relapsed around just about every special event we had... and he even told me he actually felt trapped while living at home with us last year... Just intersting because I'm learning every single day that the things we do in our lives to make them nice and normal actually make it worse for our addicts....
I still have not heard from my son but I do know that when I do hear from him I will know what to do... I will do nothing. I will let him find his way out of these woods and he will either get better or not but it is not my responsibility to fix him and heal him. The best thing I can do for him is to love him but thats all... Man why has it taken me forever to learn all of this??? I do feel better today stronger and I have a plan. My husband reassured me that he is not cold because if he was he would come home and since he hasn't he must not be. On a side not I have started a coat drive at my office for all the homeless addicts that are in the treatment center. I can't help my son but I can help the ones who are asking for the help and that makes me feel better..

Oh Marg my heart goes out to you and everyone else on this site who are living in a constant state of not knowing. The anxiety, heartache and anger that's becoming a persistent thorn in your side must be awful. But know this, you are a great mom who did all she could to help. Now, you need to join all of us who are praying for you and trust in God that some way - some how He will intercede in Justin's life for the better. Hugs and hang in there...

I know this has to be extremely hard for you and for that I am so very sorry. I hope he finds his way to recovery and I hope you do as well. Sometimes we need to let go in order for them to grow...I hope he is growing

Dear Marg, I am so sorry for your pain, I do hope he calls soon. I haven't been around the site to much lately and I feel like I have neglected my friends. I am trying to catch up now, I will keep you and Justin in my prayers. Boy do I hate this disease.

I've been looking for your post to see if Justin had come back. So sorry. Life's been kind of hard for us too. My son was arrested again 3 days ago for breaking and entering, one hour after getting out of the detox facility he went to so he could enter a county-funded drug treatment program. So sad for all of us...and our children.

Marg, I'm so saddened to hear you still haven't heard from your son. It's so heart wrenching.

Know that you and your son are in my thoughts for a good outcome.
