Just thinking what we can do or suggest in hoping to prevent another grieving family or friends effected by future suicide victims?

In my case:
- I wish the police when they first came to my house, would force Andy or suggest me at least to bring him into the ER for evaluation. (since they did not and I was out of shock, after they left, Andy died)

- I wish boys and girls would not hold up secrets for their friends when this subject is involved. They need to tell an adult. (Andy's girlfriend told me 2 days prior he O.D. and they did not let me know)

-I wish if someone has previous suicide attempts, it is CODE RED ALERT for if they tried that once, they will try again and each time, it is more perfected in their act. (Andy tried that twice 3 years ago)

Anything else you can think of???? I welcome your input and if ok, I will see what I can do to bring this awareness to authority so something can be done.

I think the schools should give our young people alittle education in depression. So they can seek help early. And they can get thier friends help if need be. Health teaches them physical changes but desn't address mental health problems. They need to be able to recognize themselves if they are having problems. I don't remember what the ratio is for suicide in young people but I remember it was high.
Today kids have alot of presures on them Other kids, family ( divorce rates ) and school itself.
If it saves one kid it would be worth it!
