I sitll have a hard time believing my son would do what he did and leave his two young children behind that he loved so much. He and I were very close yet he didn't come to me for advice or help before he did this to himself. I have so much anger towards him for doing it, I hope some time soon, I can forgive him for all the sadness he has caused.

I am so sorry for the loss of your son...most especially to suicide. His brain was not working properly for this to have happened...before you spend too much energy being angry at him, I hope you try to understand what prompts an act like this. We have had to look at several things....one was that our son had been on the anti-depressant zoloft and we believe he withdrew abruptly from it. Please google zolof/suicide and study all the side effects....if indeed your son was on any of these mind altering medications. I don't know your story but I do hope you can get counseling or a pastor to console you. My son was not the kind of person who would have done this. We were the most shocked people in the world. It was not his character....his toxicology report was clean...he was a health conscious person...a weight lifter who was always active and vitamin conscious. There are some things we will never know this side of life. I think that is the worst part of all of this...not knowing. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost a son in a car accident in May 2007 so I know your pain of losing a child. I have also lost a brother and a boyfriend to suicide. I have no answers as to why, but I think something in their lives must create tremendous pain or helplessness and it causes them to think that suicide is the best option. I hope and pray you find peace and comfort in the days ahead and release some anger and remember the wonderful son you raised.

I'm really sorry for your loss!
I can imagine how hard it must be to lose a child.
My father goes to group therapy sessions with other people who lost a child. I think that helps him a lot. We have lots of pictures of my brother at home and watch old family videos sometimes. It hurts but it's still nice to remember the good times we had.
I hope 2010 will be a good year for your family.
