Depression works on the mind and makes the unthinkable seem totally rational. I found a lot of solace in books in the months after my boyfriend took his own life after experiencing unemployment and problems in his relationship with his children. Dying To Be Free by Dorothy Cobain was extremely helpful as was some articles on the subject of "psyche ache" which explains the chronological chain of suicidal individuals.
All you can do for now is take each day as it comes. Don't try to force yourself back into your old routine too quickly. You need time. The world will move on from this tragedy much sooner than you will. A lot of well-intentioned people will give you useless and often insulting advice. Some friends may not be able to handle your grief and may drop out of your life. Let them go. Find a suicide support group in your area and go to a few meetings. I found it very comforting to be in the presence of people who had experienced this traumatic kind of loss. Best wishes to you and your family.
