I miss my friend

I had a fairly good weekend-much better than I had expected. I kept myself busy watching TV, surfing the internet, reading, doing odds and ends around the house. Usually the weekends are very depressing for me. Then about 10 minutes ago right out of the blue for no reason I just started crying cause I miss my friend who committed suicide 2 months ago. I wasn't even thinking about him hardly at all this weekend. I hate this!!!! I am not wanting to go through this. I do have the Grief Recovery Handbook I sent away for which I've been told is very helpful which I purposely saved to read this wkend when I was feeling down but when things were going fairly good I didn't start reading it. Maybe I should have. Has anyone else read it? It was written by Russell Friedman.

I actually haven't been here for a while myself.
Was just wondering how you are doing?
I have lost someone to Suicide and it's not easy...
Talking about it helped me.
Right now I am in a Grief Support Group which is helping me a lot.
If you ever need to talk I will be around.

Thank you for replying. I am doing better than I was the night I wrote my first comment. I guess because I have been so busy. And something happened that I thought was strange. Before my friend died he gave me a cactus plant. It had not been growing. Each week when I watered it the top of the plant was no higher than the height of the planter. I watered it on a Wed. That Sun. while sitting on my couch I happened to look over to the window where I kept it and did a doubletake. Here the plant was about 2 inches higher than the height of the planter! I couldn't believe it!! I was so worried it would die because all my life I could never keep a plant alive for very long. Now I don't believe in ghosts or some of that stuff but to me that was a sign from my friend. It just comforted me. I checked and there are no grief support groups in my area. I am on a waiting list for talk therapy. I also have several books on grieving and I still have not read the handbook. Don't get me wrong. I still have my moments where I get really depressed. I would give anything to talk to him one last time. And I don't doubt I may feel as bad as I did a few weeks ago again. I have so many questions about death and the afterlife now. I just have to know he is safe. Again, thanks for writing.
