this is weird i dont usually watch dr. phil ever but was at moms today and that is what she was watching and the topic was suicide and this director who filmed a documentary called "The Bridge" about the golden gate bridge and actually films people jumping off to their death...Just wondered what everyone thinks about this i personally think that its disturbing and at the same time wonderful as it has opened the doors for people to talk about it more openely here is a smal excerpt i found on imbd.com about it...i havnt seen it, only the clips on doc phil but i think i mite someday check it out

I think it is a positive thing that it brought forward the suicide topic. I do wonder how many lives they could have saved if they only tried to intervene instead of filming the deaths? But perhaps their documentary will help others who are thinking of it to change their minds.
Do you know if there is any permanent help around the bridge, where they try to talk people out of jumping?
I never considered the signs of suicide or that it could happen to me, so I do hope that the show as well as the documentary brought awareness and saved someone's life. Maybe it saved more than one life...
I understand that there are plans to now erect some sort of netting (some sort of material that will not be affected by salt in the sea air, etc. and won't need painting).
