Dyslexia, but a mild form. I've had mercury/lead poisoning in the past, which likely added to my brain injury. Was told for years that I was ADHD, but it turned out to be part of the brain injury.

I think a lot of people have been mis diagnosed with ADHD. At least it seems that way.
Dyslexia is really the problem that I have that bothered me least while I was growing up. It did not make it difficult for me to read as it does to many. I would read a word backwards sometimes but I would catch the mistake easily. Also, I tend to type letters backwards from what I intended. I often type "nad" instead of "and". And simiar other words too. The most noticeable thing is that I regularly say things backwards. This has been a big joke in my family and usually has not upset me. It just seems like a funny thing that I sometimes do. My most famous childhood quote was when I was talking to my family about answering the phone. They were telling me when I should or shouldn't talk to strangers. I told them that "I hate it when I'm home alone and the CONE FALLS!! I meant to say that I hate when there is a phone call. But, my family still teases me about a fear of cones falling. :)

I do some of the same things. I can't tell the difference between cars. I can tell the difference between a bus, a truck, a car, and a van, etc. But all trucks look the same, all cars look the same, etc. Makes it hard to find my own car at times--I have a system for parking that helps look in the right row/area. But if I go somewhere in someone else's car, I deliberately walk behind going back to the car b/c I know I can't pick out the right one on my own. It's really weird b/c I see way more details in almost everything else in life than anyone else. But no matter how hard I try to remember faces or cars, I can't.

I have trouble finding my own car too. Most people that I go places with think that I am actually very good at finding my car. This is because I try sooo hard to pay attention to where I park. I make mental notes that will give me a map to find my car.
Once when I went to a renaissance festival I carefully counted the tents that were near the parking area. I knew how many tents to count before I would find my car. The only trouble.......They erected MORE tents while I was enjoying the festival. It took me a while to realise the problem and eventually find my car!

I've had things like that happen to me also.

This is really not face blindness, but your comment about the festival reminded me of something that happened to my daughter in high school.

She went on first date to an afternoon movie at the mall. After the movie they went out and got in the car and drove away. All of a sudden a police car was coming after them with lights flashing. They were pulled over and the officer asked for the registration. It wasn't in the glove box as her date expected. The officer told them the car had been reported stolen. My daughter's date assured him that this was his dad's car. The officer asked him to drive back to the mall and the area where he had been parked. When they got back to the mall, they saw a car that looked just like the one they were in. They had gotten into the wrong car, and the keys had worked! It turned out that dealerships use key patterns multiple times, but cars being shipped to the same area of the country are not supposed to get the same key patterns. I think this is funny, even though it doesn't have anything to do with face blindness.

That is a good story!! That is just terrible that the key worked in another car. I have gotten a bit confused before when a car that looks like mine is in the same general area, but I would never have thought that it would be possible for me to take the wrong car! I will be more careful from now on!
I hope your daughter wasn't too upset when her date stole a car! :)
