My daughter has been mad at me since I kicked her out after she mooched off us for many years and we helped her to the tune of $40,000+ and I finally had enough of her screaming at me and stealing from me. Now here is my problem, my oldest grandson is graduating 8th grade and I would like to attend his graduation. We were very close and my daughter has admitted he missed me very much. Should I just show up without being invited? My youngest daughter and my grandson were very close since they are the same age (late surprise!)-this has been very hard on her too;she missed him very much. Not sure what to do. I have nothing to loose since they won't let me see him. This is her way to hurt me to the core.

Follow your heart momtoone, do what it is that YOU want to do, don't be concerned about what your ED will thing, as long as you concern yourself and walk on eggshells around her, she has you still wrapped around her finger. DO EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT TO DO....Let no one stop you. If a scene is made, it will be made by her, and if that happens, the best thing you can do is go about your business as if you don't know who she is, it will be her embarrassment. If something is to be said, perhaps, the words, your son is graduating, perhaps you should be grown up would be suffice. If you feel strongly attached to your grandson as does your youngest daughter - follow your gut feelings. PS Sometimes Late Surprises are NEAT SURPRISES and the BEST of the bunch. Hugs.

oh thank you for your reply!! i have been agonizing over this for months. and yes my late surprise is wonderful. my ED's are from my first marriage and they are all mean like my x. my grandson is not though he is pretty sweet. my youngest daughter is sweet like my husband. I just can't figure it out-i have done almost the same as a parent and my youngest is wonderful.my husband says it is because their dad deserted them. they did all get worse when they contacted him in their teens-my husband adopted them all-and he blew them off, again. i know my GS's are not being taken great care of-my daughter really doesn't like being a mom. when she was here i always took total care of them. she even writes stuff on her FB about what a pain the boys are. i just feel so sad for them, no one really cares about them. i know my GS's are not doing well in school either. their dad is pretty much into himself also. it is just very sad.
