They just never give up. When dying from cancer because she ignored symptoms for early treatment, my n mother ask "just this one thing" for me to "get along with" my n sister (who is the golden child! no less). My n-sis took that to mean that she could walk all over me and then tell n-mother that I was making no effort to "get along".

If your sister made a doc appointment without having a ride to the doctor office, that is just rude. She is a grown up. It is her job to make sure she can get there, no yours.

Your sister sounds so much like my sister. It is all about them. My sister couldn't even come to a family dinner to see my son.. He flew 3000 miles to visit. She blamed it on me. My son organized everything thinking she could come and be nice. She also blamed me for my father's death. He died of kidney failure.
I wasn't even told he was dying. I was at home 2 hours away. I could have been there to say goodbye.My sister is the Golden child. I'm not taking her to the doctor. She should make her appointment when she can get a ride.

During the last weeks of mom's life When I tried to visit, the golden child told mom to make me leave and never come back because I was in the way. What she meant was "she is not waiting on me hand and foot like when we were children living at home. ( which I tested out for a couple hours).
Once sis was in the position of being allowed to INVITE me to have a cup of tea with my dying mother for 5 minutes, all was fine and suddenly I was welcome again.
By then my flight was changed. And honesly I was fed up with being told to jump on the next plane OR ELSE, only to arrive and be told to LEAVE OR ELSE.

I honeslty feel sorry for the goledn child. They are set up to be narc's themselves from birth. They believing the world OWES them whatever they want because parents treated them that way. She is all alone and rarely keeps frineds for more than a month at a time.
The best was hearing her tell her children at the top of her voice, "We have a HAPPY FAMILY!". Sounded like OR ELSE you get it to me.

Does the pain of growing up in an N family ever get better?. I am having a hard time with not having any extended family.. It is so lonely. I live where everyone has tons of family and they all hang out. It is hard to find friends because they do everything with their relatives. Does anyone feel this way.? if so what has helped you.

You know what I have a N Mother too. You are lucky in the fact that you have other family though. Don't know how you get along with them but we're here to listen to you and are behind you 100 percent also know what your going through because have been there too. Luv you dear on my end of this have no family or what is called that period because of the N Mother. So hey try hanging in there dear and my little Maddie and I are all I have left so try to give it all you have and hang in there too. Try to understand what the N Mother is about because she's going to play the same games for the rest of her life. Luv and understanding from me to you and lots of hugs too dear!!!

So just noticed you said N Sister so you have N family either but your own. Just rely on them and tell your other N family to handle their own problems and leave you out of it. Maybe then they'll start to appreciate the fact that your not there and they miss you. Don' know what else to say except that it's stressful situation and you have your own family that loves you. That's what's important your own family. N other family is like non important.

I have an N mother who pretty much takes up for one daughter and not the other it seems like in my family I am to be blamed when she does something wrong. She is like the princess and I am the ugly step sister! I feel your pain I truly do. Vent all you can that is the only way to get it out unless your N mother sees what she does she will never change which is so sad but you need to live for who you are and not let other get you down or make you feel responsible for a grown persons actions. Thanks mistmist. My N mother will never change. My sister is the golden child . She can do whatever she wants and does nothing wrong according to my n mother. It is sad that a mother can't equally love her daughters. It took me a long time to see what was going on. I have set boundries. They don't like it. N mother disowned me again. I am like oh well when she wants something I'll hear from her. I am keeping my distant. So far I have had a peaceful week. You can message me is you need too.
