Hi, I'm new here too I've been living with my tremors for about three years now. I just read your post and I wanted to offer a little comfort to you, you're not alone I felt that same way like no one could understand but then I realized there's actually quite a few of us we just don't go out of our houses. It's hard when people stare I used to feel embarrassed like something was wrong with me and I can imagine what these people would be thinking but when people stare I don't take it as sensitively I guess is the right word as I used to take it as an opportunity for me to educate people and I usually will respond by saying I shake because I have a essential tremors before they can even say a word that way I'm in control. I usually will follow up by explaining that it's not contagious it's a neurological condition that makes me shake but it's OK because I can still do anything I want to do. My husband actually has the same problem he has psoriasis and it affects his hands causing deep cuts and cracks so most of the time he will actually wear white gloves or even latex gloves but whether he has gloves on or not doesn't really matter people will still make comments. Personally I think it's very rude and it used to really bother him they would "say oh did you get burned it looks like a chemical burn" or saying "oh that looks like it hurts" well no shit it hurts. But he was extremely self-conscious as well and he also found that the best thing to do is to take control of the situations sometimes people are stupid they open their mouth and say things that they shouldn't. I mean you're not gonna go up to somebody who has a mole on the tip of their nose and say "oh look at that" but for some reason sometimes people don't realize that their comments and there staring Give me very hurtful and psychologically damaging to others so they end up putting their foot in their mouth. I'm sorry that you're having such a difficult time right now but you're not alone. If you're interested in the DBS you should ask about it and see if it's an option for. My doctor mentioned the DBS to me before she had a doctor that she knew that does the procedure and she thought I might be interested in consulting with him about it, my tremors affect my hands and my legs and every now and then I will get a slight head tremor. I've had a lot of my other doctors tell me not to do it just because they said that they haven't seen anybody walk away from it was a perfect result people still have problems, I know that's just their opinion but I like by doctors so I'd lean to trusting them. I've been taking medication for my tremors now for three years and recently the medication wasn't working as well as it used to so we increased my dose and it is doing better there's also a few other options medication wise available if yours isn't working for you talk to your doctor about it it's the only to find something that will work for you maybe you need to change the dose of the medication. I hope things get better for you and again I just want you to know you're not alone.

Its been 2 yrs for me n all felt almost the same.. but the thing us that u must stop giving a damn.. otherwise its a cruel world to live in.. dnt let urself get bullied... just dnt care about what anyone says.. it ll be alright for all of us some day :)
