I know the problem. I've had problems with my wedge as well as with pillows. I found it works best to keep your body straight, head and chest up, without allowing yourself to slide down or over to the side.
Sometimes you just have to work with what you got. I've used couch cushions as well as big and small pillows to make sure I don't slide down on one side.
Also try stopping eating by 9 o'clock PM or for at least several hours before you go sleep.
Most of my problem is from sliding over to the side. As long as I came from sliding over the night is good.
I also put cushions under my knees when I'm sleeping on my back which helps you stay still as well.
I hope this helps. It's the best I've got.
All the best,
Fred
I appreciate your suggestions. I have a wedge that I used at first, but was never comfortable. we were fortunate to be able to warranty coverage on our old bed and bought an adjustable bed. Wow! Big difference!
I tried to fit the wedge into my suitcase, but hit wouldn't fit. I tRied to find a place on Kauai that sold wedges, but couldn't figure kit out. My husband even called the hotel to see if they could prop up head of the bed. They didn't know how they Would do that. So, I decided I Would just pay to have it checked in at the airport. Much to my very happy surprise, the airline checked it in at the gate...no charge.!! I'm now listening to the waves of Hawaii, celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary and six months post surgery! ALOHA AND MOHALO!
