Esophageal Cancer Support Group
Esophageal cancer is malignancy of the esophagus. There are various subtypes. Esophageal tumors usually lead to dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), pain and other symptoms, and is diagnosed with biopsy. Small and localized tumors are treated with surgery, and advanced tumors are treated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy or combinations.
Hello everyone! I am new to the site here, but definitely not new to the Esophageal Cancer part... I was diagnosed on December of 2012 and had surgery on lat January of 2013 where they removed 3/4 of my esophagus and the upper portion of my stomach... Then mop up chemo and radiation... and I am now 16 months post-op and NED! :)
I recently started a blog about my journey through all this. It is written in first person... I am active on Facebook and in the support groups there as well, so some of yo may ,now or have heard of me... Maybe. :) I am trying hard to get the word out to be sure. There is some humor some sadness and the rest of the gamut of emotions in the blog that I hoe everyone will enjoy AND be able to earn from or gain a better understanding from.
