I worried about getting the liquids down also, but managed to do so with less trouble than I thought. It took a little longer, and tasted just as bad (:-), but I did OK. Just take your time. The colonoscopy was uneventful. Though the doctor was fully aware of my rearranged stomach/esophagus situation, before they knocked me out I jokingly (though half seriously & nervously) reminded him that there wasn't as much of me down there to explore once he got past the colon ;-)

Thanks Dan, I am up and ready to start the prep.. :). The doc doing it is the one who found the cancer during a scope, so I trust him... But this is the first time I am having a scope and colonoscopy at the same time, he said that he does it all the time and I just want to get it over with.. Thanks for the advice it eases my mind knowing you were able to do it..

Hi Cindy. My sister, Mom, and I all have the scope when we have a Colonoscopy. While you're out, when Colonoscopy time, the scope is easily done.

I need to schedule another Colonoscopy. 4 months ago my GI had me do Suprep, but it didn't clean me out....grrr. That surprised me & him, so I'm thinking I'll have it next year with my annual scope, since I'm not having issues, although it was a 5 year one. I'll probably go back to the gallon stuff next time. Seems like some people do something mixing something with gatorade?

I had endoscopy and colonoscopy in September...piece of cake. I used suprep for the first time and found it to be much easier than the gallon stuff. My new oncologist(everyone who treated me at Hopkins has left) tells me that since we have already had an aero-digestive cancer we are most at risk for other digestive cancers...the most common being colon cancer. So, he is going to send me for a colonoscopy every 2 years. That way, he says, if something does pop up it will be stage 1 and we will simply cut it out and move on. Regarding the colonoscopy...I love the propofol....ML.

Thanks everyone, I am home and all went well. I have a slight sore throat and a bit nauseous but doc said everything looked good, took biopsies and get results next week!
