I apologize in advance for the length of the post!

Back in August at the tender age of 57 I had a Grand Mal seizure. I've never had a seizure before and needless to say it was frightening not just for me, but even more so for my wife who watched it happen. I was just laying in bed watching tv and we had just finished a snack of blueberries and Greek yogurt. My wife asked if she could take my bowl back to the kitchen and I said yes, thank you. When she came back I was staring at the ceiling and then went into the spasms associated with a Grand Mal seizure. The first thing I remember coming out of it was my wife trying to calm me down as the EMT's worked on me. The elapsed time from when I gave the bowl to my wife and coming to with the EMT's working on me was about 30 minutes. About a week later I saw a neurologist and had an EEG test where they saw some "sharp" waves. She put me on Levetitacetam 750mg twice daily. The med leaves me feeling a little "cloudy" and I have awful dreams at night. She determined that the seizure was "provoked". At the time I was on Tramadol for RA pain, Prozac for depression and Humira, also for RA. I am now off of those 3 men's as it was the doctor's opinion that it was one of those meds(or a combination of the 3 that provoked the seizure. At the time of the EEG I was still on the Tramadol. I had only been on the Prozac for about 2 weeks because I went to see my GP as I had been feeling lethargic and lacking energy for the last year or so. He had me take a test to see if it was depression and even though I scored low for depression, that was what he wanted to try first. Given the close proximity to starting the Prozac and the seizure we figured it had a part in the seizure. Because I had been getting more and more lethargic starting around the time I started the Humira, that was also included as a possible cause. The doctor that prescribed the Tramadol said that too can contribute to seizures so that also had to go.

When we went back to the neurologist for the follow up after the EEG I asked if we could do the EEG again since I was now off all the meds we thought may have provoked the seizure, her response was "There's no point".

My question is: Why would she say that? If indeed these meds provoked the seizure, wouldn't it make sense to do it again now that I'm off of them?

My thinking right now is to get a second opinion, but we are in Austin, TX and good providers are few and far between which means going to Dallas. Before I start jumping through all the hoops to make that happen I wanted to bounce it off folks that have been through it.
