Neurontin was the worst drug I ever took.
It made me suicidal and also made me gain 30-40 pounds.
That drugs not for me.

In 1998 my husband was taking Dilantin and was put on Phenobarbital to "boost" it because he couldn't balance the Dilantin. He got a blood clot and was put on Coummadin. The medications clashed and his siezures increased, so we opted to change his siezure medication since they told us the other blood thinner was $500 a vial and my job was not guaranteed to endure.(that year they were closing a lot of the Home Health Agencies-I carried his insurance) So instead of changing blood thinners, then changing again if I lost my job and couldn't afford the other, he changed siezure meds.(plus he really didn't want to have to give himself shots every day-kinda dangerous with siezures anyway).

He was changing to Neurontin. He had an increase of GM siezures as well as multiple siezures. He also became impotent. Needless to say he demanded to change to another medication.

I am currently taking it. I have'nt experienced anything bad or any side effects(that I have noticed) from it.
My seizures have decreased some.

I've been taking it for over 2 years and it's working very well. I still have some partial seizure activity but on the whole I like Neurontin. It also helps me to sleep pretty well at night.

Neuontin and myself didn't get along. It was added to Tegretol and was just too strong for me to handle. Couldn't think very well and slept so well had problems getting up for work. I wasn't on it very long.
