I had E all my life (simple and complex partials) but nothing helped until I started going to a neurologist that specialized in epilepsy (ie. an epileptologist). Ergo that's the advice I'd give anyone with E.

It may take some time to find the right med too. There are lots of them out there. And it may take a combo of meds too. The best advice I can give is patience. Lots of it! Good luck my dear.

I would talk with the dr. I can only take Dilaintin, due to having simular problems. Good luck!!!

I'm on Keppra & I find that it has many side effects, but they will go with time. Personally it has stopped the tonic clonic, but I still get Complex partials coming through, I get tired quickly , mood swings & as you are saying heavy chested. Best thing to do is write down what happen & tell your GP or Specialist what is happening, they might have to up or lower your meds...

My husband is on keppra and experiences some of the side effects you mention, particularly during the two weeks following an increase to his dose; they do generally lessen after that time period though.
However I would recommend that you see your doctor about the heart palpitations and dizziness, have your blood pressure checked out just in case the meds are causing a problem there, especially if you have been on your current dose for more than a couple of weeks without any improvement.

5 times a day is too many times for heart palipitations! go to the doctor. tompax has been a friendly drug and there is always good old tegretol! good luck and dont wait
