What kind of ep do you have? I have the (myoclonic) jerks to. Mine is Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and I used to have grand mals withing the first half hour of waking up until my meds kicked in.
I don't think epilepsy itself can cause memory problems; I may be wrong. But I believe that anyone who has seizures is technically classified as an epileptic.
