Dizzy after standing up

Last night I had a Very high stress night and didn't get much sleep.

All day today, every time I stand, I get dizzy for maybe 5 seconds.


Anyone else with Epilepsy ever had this happen?

Hi AOKBC,
I personally don't experience dizziness with my seizures but I do know stress and lack of sleep can cause seizures. Dizziness can also be caused if you have low blood sugar or have gotten up to fast from a sitting position.

Thanx. Yes I am aware of that. It was even happening when I got up extremely slowly.
Was happening a bit today also.
Called and left the message with my Neuro.. Will see what he says.

I get dizzy after standing up multiple times a day. Not sure if this is related or not. Never even thought of that.

Today it happened while I was sitting at my desk. Didn't even have to get up for it to happen.
My GP and Neuro are both away until the end of the month. Oh yay me.

Many years ago it happenned that there were times that I'd stand up and things would go black and I'd be dizzy. I'd have to hold onto something until it passed I waas told by my Neurologist that I had low blood pressure and that I was to consume a lot of salt. It worked! But I'm not saying you have low blood pressure. I'm not allowed to diagnose. But I am allowed to share my personal experiences. Ask your doctor what the source of the dizziness is. You did mention not getting a lot of sleep, which can be detrimental for epileptics. I'm sure any neurologist would tell any epileptic that. But find out the cause of it by your doctor. I can't supply that info.

My Neuro actually said they are seizures.
