I'm just wondering b/c i'm thinking of having sex with this girl i'm sort of dating, i just wanted to know can having sex bring on a seizure, i now its a stupid question bet i just want to be perpared lolz

No question is stupid ever.I not sure what or why seizures happen but The triggers. Does something happen the causes a seizure?If they aren't fully controlled go see your Dr. make sure birth controll is used you don't need something else ( baby , std ) to add to your seizures....sorry I had to put my two cents in

Unfortunately you can!!! I have!!! I dont have grandmal, I just jerk so I look funny while I have mine, I dont lose my breath or anything so when it has happened, during sex or not, we normally get a good laugh about it. I have gotten to the point where I try to play it off if we are in the middle of sex just cause it scares my hubby and tends to spoil the mood.

I don't know if it can actually bring it on but yes I have had seizures during sex and this is what happens, I say "wait hon get off me me" or I get off him and say "move might hit you"...you get the idea and then once the seizure is over we just pick up where we left off! No biggie!

ASLSOCCERMOM, curious wouldn't you want to know how your partner will react prior to marriage? I myself am married, but it wasn't a "white wedding" and no one ever ran away but if they did I'd rather know sooner than later....I mean what would be embarassing in my mind would be never having sex and then having a seizure on your wedding night, what do you say then haha you're legally bound to me now!

Open, honest and upfront and there shouldn't be an issue IMHO.

You should take into consideration what type of epilepsy you have. I have juvenile myoclonic epilepsy so I only used to have seizures after waking up (I don't have any now I'm on meds). I never had seizures during it.

I'm just going to give you the same grin Heather did...
OK...yes it's happened a couple of times.
Can't tell you what the partner really thought the first time...(might have been VERY flattered!), but my seizures are usually pretty mild, so I don't think it was too scary...maybe just seemed suddenly really"distracted".
Anyhow, it's better if everyone is aware that something COULD happen.
