Applying for a job or two

When you apply for a job, on the resume do you make it a point to say that you have epilepsy only if it is a huge impact on your life and isn't very controlled? And do you go ahead and point it out to your employer and co-workers after awhile just incase something happens regardless of them being controlled very well? And do you mention you having to take meds. depending on your work schedule? And any other things you may have to tell them. I'm not sure. I've never worked a day in my life. I'm not sure what I would have to tell them.

No, it is not required by law to disclose a disability. Some people find they won't get hired if they disclose this. The American Disibility Act, google it and you will get the information you need. I have about 4 seizures a month so for me I would tell them AFTER I was hired. If your having absolutely no seizures you may not have to say anything at all. Good luck and God bless.

I think this site will answer all your questions. Good Luck. I Personally walked up to a District Manager for a part time job at a dollar store. I told him rite up front & was hired on the spot. But, not every Employer will feel that way. :( I, also, made a point of telling my co-workers what to watch for & ask if they know how to respond. :) And Please, don't call ER for a 2-3 min Episode!. :)

&&I wouldn't call an ambulance, my mother however would and has lol A lil protective about that, but I haven't had a seizure in bout 2yrs., but I would still make it a point because i'm a teenager and i've out grown my meds. alot so you never know + I have ticks every once and awhile so I don't want them to get TOO weirded out by it. There's always the possibility of it.
