I used to fit that general description. I spent a fortune on immunotherapy. I spent a fortune on nasal surgery. They both helped but I question their true significance. I accidently discovered that I was allergic to wheat a few years ago (while on a weight loss program). BIG change. My newest is a nasal spray. From 4-7 to 4-16, I used more than a box of kleenex. Alot of people that I talked to were having sinus trouble. I got home 4-16, mucous was yellow and still in full attack mode. 4-19 I bought "Xlear" (xylitol) nasal spray, on the recommendation of a newsletter written by Dr, Jonathan Wright. He said it would clear up sinuses, sinus infections, and even asthma (asthma does not apply to me). Day 3 and I cannot believe how much it has helped already. Mucous is clear...what little there is. I have only sneezed once since the first dose. Dr Wright said that the worst thing about the spray is that it works soooo well that you will forget to use it. I have hope again.

Feeling a little better today. Sneezing and runny nose, but I am using just regular saline solution. Its helping, and my throat seems a bit better. When you say you have bad allergies, people think your just complaining. If they have not dealt with it, they have no clue.
Is that xylitol over the counter or is it a script. I do have COPD, and some doctors have said Asthma. Who knows?

It is otc at a health food store. I do not believe in prescription or otc drugs. I used to take chlorotabs.. $3.23 for 50 at Walmart. They caused ED. Iquit taking them as soon I figured out that they were the cause of the problems.
I do know what you mean about other people not understanding allergies. They get a little sniffle for a few days and they take off of work. I used to have sinus headaches 364 days a year but luckily only 1 a day. Unfortuately it was from the time I woke up till I went sleep . I discovered nasal spray in 1976. Boy was that bad. I used so much because it actually cleared my sinuses. Till I burned them up. I spent the next week shoving a q-tip full of vaseline up my nose 4-5 times a day. I have had sinus attacks so bad that I had to hold a qleenex under my nose, changing it every few minutes, for hours.
I have great hopes that the xylitol will give me the boost, as Dr Wright said, to live a life without sinus trouble. For $15, I figured it was worth a shot. And it is safe for anyone. All you are risking is the $15 and I have blown alot more than that in a month, many times, trying to find something that could clear my sinuses. Heck, I've spent more that in a month on qleenex.

i am buying one of those air humidifier for my room that you can clean the filter, but i think im suffering from a dust allergy, but yours sounds like what affects me.. but my eyes are fine, and not sore. i have a lot of mucus build up which is not nice, and then wheeze but while camping i didnt have that, so i guessed it wasnt hay fever and the wheezing stopped. i walked 5 miles day.

I completely agree with JJFlash about the Xlear product. I use it as a last ditch effort before congestion turns into a sinus infection. For about a year I was addicted to Zicam, for some godawful reason thinking it was a safe alternative to Afrin. Well it wasn't and I was seriously addicted to this stuff prior to seeing an Allergist and prompted warned to stay off this product.

The Walgreens version of the Neti Pot, Xlear and now the Hyland's Homeopathic Seasonal Allergy Relief product have formed the basis for my allergy relief. These three seem to be doing a great job for me at this point, and for what it's worth I used to get sinus infections about every few weeks for years and continually have to be on Antibiotics to try and function.
