Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hope everyone has had a great weekend. I know I should just wait to hear from my doc but I hate waiting and have been getting more concerned. To try to make a long story short, I have been seeing a new obgyn and feel really comfortable with her and she really wants to help me with my endo. I had mirena put in back in April and haven't had any problems. I started having pretty bad pelvic pain a few weeks after and the ultrasound showed everything was normal. This past week the pain came back and was so severe I have a hard time moving around. She was able to squeeze me in on Friday but since they were booked solid, she sent me to the hospital next door for an ultrasound. I got done pretty late and knew I wouldn't hear any results until Tuesday bc of the holiday but I feel like the pain has gotten so much worse over the weekend. The ultrasound tech of course couldn't tell me anything legally but it seemed like she was taking a ton of pictures especially around my ovaries. This definitely doesn't feel just like endo pain, unless maybe it is all growing on my ovaries again? I am also worried it will all be normal like last time and I will be left feeling like a looney tune again. Any thoughts or advice would be great, even though I know I need to be patient and just wait to hear what they saw.
Right before I had my laparoscopy that diagnosed me with stage 4 endo, they did an ultrasound, two intravaginal ultrasounds and an MRI, all of which showed absolutely nothing wrong with me besides PCOS, and yet I had organs webbed together and endo growing on multiple organs and almost growing through my bladder. So be prepared that even though you are experiencing all the symptoms, that your ultrasound could come back with nothing on it, or just show that you have PCOS like mine did. That does NOT mean that there is nothing that is causing your pain. Good luck and best wishes to you. Don't feel like a crazy person if it comes back not showing much.
