Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I dont think your alone SS!
Biochemists, on the other hand, believe that some food cravings are caused by an imbalance in hormonal and chemical substances in the brain and nervous system, with particular emphasis on serotonin.
In particular with chocolate, acute monthly cravings among pre-menstrual women may be partly explained by its rich magnesium content. Magnesium deficiency exacerbates PMT. Also, before menstruation, levels of the hormone progesterone are high. Progesterone promotes fat storage, preventing its use as fuel; elevated pre-menstrual levels of progesterone may cause a periodic craving for fatty foods.
One study reported that 91% of chocolate-cravings associated with the menstrual cycle occurred between ovulation and the start of menstruation

I think it does have to do with hormones, it HAS to! I have eaten 2 medium bags of M&Ms since MONDAY! One was almond ( at least almonds are good for you ) and the other is peanut butter. ( which is kind of weird but I've sort of been craving peanut butter too so I thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone )
Utah, I realized that I should have picked a chocolate with more cocoa in it but this craving is almost "paranormal", I have a real hard time controlling it. And you're right, I should be eating foods rich in iron and magnesium due to my poor appetite. The only thing I am willing to eat right now is chocolate, my husband MAKES me eat at least one meal a day. I also kicked up my supplement, I am taking a powder form ( mixed with H20 or juice ) immune booster that has these 2 nutrients in it. It seems to curb the craving a little bit. I actually was able to put down the chocolate! LOL! Good advice! It works!
I should know better about these things, it just was soooo uncontrolable, I know that fruit can replace candy very easily, and I do eat fruit everyday, it's just.... WOW! I feel better knowing I'm not alone and that maybe we discovered a connection.
So remember girls, increase your supplements for food ( or "unfood" ) cravings. What ever it is that you are consuming at an alarming rate, look up what the nutritional value is and supplement it.
