Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Can I ask what made you do this second lap? How bad off were you?
I've thought many times about having lap #2, but keep telling myself that I'm not bad enough yet. It's hard to make a call when you don't know what is going on inside!
I totally get your uncertainty about lap 2. I really didn't want to do it. kept trying to rationalize reasons why I didn't need it, but in the end I knew it was the smartest option, and honestly for me this is the best timing for it since I'm still in school on winter break and don't have to work, etc. I feel like you should just pay extra attention to your body and see if things have sort of reverted back to the way they were before lap 1. I noticed I was slowly reverting back to symptoms I had before my first lap, which definitely raised the endo suspicion. Also, I have secondary problems (PFD and IC), and it seemed like no matter what preventative measures I took, I was repeatedly flaring up, so my doctor felt that it might have been endo instigating those flares.
