Hi, my doctor told me today that she thinks I may have endometriosis, which I had figured myself from reading other peoples stories and comparing my symptoms. I am going for a scan next week to check for it. It is an ultra sound scan that I will be getting. When researching online I read that endometriosis may not show up on an ultra sound, is this true or what are peoples experiences,? I am tired of the pain so am hoping for a diagnosis ASAP. I was diagnosed with endometriosis via laparoscopic surgery. I had the surgery because my OBGYN felt strongly that I had endometriosis after assessing my symptoms. I did have an ultrasound done before, but it was because my doctor wanted to make sure that it wasn't anything else that could be causing the pain and other symptoms. You're right in that endometriosis tissue does not appear on ultrasounds. I really hope that your scan goes well. Hang in there!
