Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

I've been on Visanne for 1 year and still taking it as my doc suggests I take it for as long as I can. The first 3 months of taking it was a bit rough I had on and off bleeding and I experienced all the side effects (extreme fatigue, nausea, dizziness, extreme breast tenderness, weight gain (picked up 5kgs in 1 year since my op) anxiety, emotional, depression and lil bit hair loss. Since then I don't get a period at all, it has stopped completely, the side effects has calmed down as i feel my body has gotten used to it and I stick to taking it exactly at the same time everyday. The only side effects that linger a bit is hot flushes, fatigue, mood swings & lack of libido (no sex drive) but I can work with this. I have mentally decided to bite the bullet & look at the bigger picture as I would really want to try for kids one day. The upside of taking these meds is that I am pain free 90% of the time, no more bloating, backache, leg pain, cramps and discomfort, so it is working. I can deal with the odd 10% off day of pain.
I hope this helps :-)
Good luck x
I just had an appt. with my obgyn a week ago since my laparotomy in March'14 and she said my condition is now stable, since the op the endo hasn't rapidly grown back etc. which I'm glad for and which tells me this pill is working for me...there is hope :-)
Wishing you all the best on you journey!
