So I'm been having a TON of pain lately like even more than usual with symptoms of a UTI so I went to urgent care to see what was going on and my urinalysis came back negative for uti but my urine cultures came back positive for Ureaplasma. I googled it and found that it's a bacteria present in near 80% of women but only cause problems for some and can be passed between sexual partners. My Womens panel has yet to come back but the culture has made me kinda nervous.

Have any of you had problems or experiences with this?

I had it, it's not a big deal! And it is def NOT an STD! They give you antibiotics and your partner too (just in case he is carrying it). You'll feel better in a week. It sucks because the internet makes it seem like you're dying and your partner cheated, but really it's not the case- I got it when I wasn't sleeping with anyone and single. So I asked my doc if it were something that could be hanging around as an STD, and he said no. Don't be nervous. It's treateable and curable. I haven't had another bout with it since.

Thanks, Alana...I just hit the wrong button and LOST my post.

Through 3 years of continuous UTI with cultures showing severe infection of E-Coli. This is NOT a hygiene issue...Antibiotics only help short-term. My urine is vile.

I KNOW it makes me want to trash can vomit, too=( I fear fistula and even kidney damage.

Anybody have this happen? Thanks.

I recall someone liking a doc at the Cleveland Clinic for ureaplasma. Any suggestions would be so helpful to have. My last doc at the Mayo clinic told me I have to learn to live with ureaplasma. Uhmm...not when I don't make cortisol! I would love to get another doc who can assist me better with this annoying pain!
