I am now 7 weeks post op. I've been living on a high of virtual painless everything. I've been feeling better than I have in years.

My post op appointment was last week and I've been given the all clear to resume normal exercise which I pretty much had been doing anyway. Like I said high on life.

We talked about how my birth control was going and I've had no emotional side effects, no major hunger, the sore boobies have gone away, but, I'm spotting daily.

My doc directed me to take a four day reprieve from the BCPs and let myself get a period since spotting indicates I have lining that needs to shed and well......

Holy guacamole I woke up at 5am in tears. Fetal position. Bleeding through my super tampon/pad combo. I couldn't handle the pain. It was sharp and piercing. Prior to my surgery I was on an ibuprofen regimen which I hadn't done this time. I took 2 Vicodin and fell asleep for a couple hours. Now I'm feeling okay. Just dull pain. I'm passing large clots. Ugh.

Today was the first time I was grounded. Reminded about how bad this disease is. I'm heartbroken for myself. I'm never gonna be normal.

I start back on my pills tonight and I'm sure I'll be feeling better in a day or two.

Hang in there! The first period supposedly is always really bad after a lap, which is another reason I'm very skeptical of doing one. I just don't want things to be worse, I couldn't imagine anything being worse. But once you start your pills, I feel like you should be better! Maybe your pill isn't strong enough (maybe try Yaz instead of the generic, a lot of the generics aren't as good and cause spotting a lot, I refuse to go on them!).

My insurance doesn't cover name brands unfortunately. I'll give this brand a few months and see how it goes. It doesn't make me crazy and to be honest that's more important than bleeding.

Yeah, I'm not sure which ones is worse, I just spent 200 on birth control, but its better than bleeding like a slaughtered pig. Every month. I hate bleeding. :/

:( I hope you'll feel much much better since you'll be back on the pills. You never realize how much you miss the pills until you're off of them. It's like a friend reunion whenever I start back up on them lol.

Alana, you summed it up really well! "slaughtered pig"...that's how it is. Are you guys surprised that you don't die from how much blood you lose? I'm sure in retrospect, it isn't "that" much but it just feels like you'll bleed out!

Yeah, why cant they just come up with a cure for the bleeding? I honestly thing endo would be that much easier to live with if we could have dignity about it. I'm always so afraid I'm going to bleed thru so it makes sleeping near impossible. So not fun.

I've never had it happen but I've heard the first period after surgery can be really bad. I hope things are better now!!

The first period is after is bad. It seems like maybe it is built up tissue or linning that they 'jiggle' loose during the process and then out it comes! But no need to be alarmed (although I certainly was so its easy for me to say that now because i was freaked) That was funny JenC13, lol!

I'm soo sorry, nothing like endo slapping you right back in the face huh? :( I'm the same, I'm on a type of bc, but progestin only. I do really well when I'm on my daily regimen and might have a slight twinge here or there but nothing like i had before all of this. My periods were really bad after my endo surgery but since I've been on the bc they've calmed down. Not in so much pain, just uncomfortable but I can get through my day and hopefully that will happen for you to.

i'm also the same, if I forget to take my pill within the exact same hour ever day I will start feel period like symptoms and will sometimes spot. I have 7 days where I'm supposed to go off it to have a period and even tho pain wise its uncomfortable but manageable, i still bleed uncontrollably and it has a lot of clots in it too. ugh. sorry for the tmi

It sounds like for some reason even on bc we both seem to over produce our endo linings for some reason.

I so hope the bc starts to work and this will get better for you. :(
