Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I say all of this to say NEVER give up. I KNOW it's hard as hell and seems like there is no way to go but down but it CAN get better. Love you all!!!
We just all need to find the docs who will search for and find all our endo - and cut it out deep.
I get excited thinking about a painfree future.
@ Shortbaby30, Endowife and Marlaina816, I did pelvic floor therapy for 6 weeks before surgery (after having an ultrasound and MRI to see what we were possibly dealing with) and my last surgery was done with the Da Vinci assisted robot. I had adhesions, cysts and a little endo. ALL of that being removed played a HUGE part in my success story PLUS doing 6 more weeks of pelvic floor therapy after i was cleared in postop to go back to therapy. It is amazing to see how tight pelvic floor muscles can affect everything else. I thought all my pain was endo/adhesion/cyst related. It was but my pelvic floor muscles being so tight that many had developed trigger points played a huge roll in my being in pain every single day for the previous year. I was convinced i had adenomyosis also and although my uterus grew alittle over the years an MRI rulled that out and it didnt have to be removed.
@ endowife you are correct in saying that finding the right doctor is KEY. Mine listened to me, trusted that I knew what i was talking about and was just as passionate about my treatments as I was so we worked together and were successful. Every test and pain med i asked for he gave it with no hesitation.
Ladies this is just MY story. Since unfortunatly Endo affects us all in so many different way, you just have to keep fighting until you find what helps you. When you come across a doctor who is talking out of their ass, simply bring the visit to an end and tell them to take care and go home and search for a new doc. I know it is hard but it is all about YOU and not the doctor who has no clue the level of pain we are often in.
