Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I haven't posted here before but read my daily updates every day which has helped me a lot through my diagnosis.
I was diagnosed in June this year (I'm 23) after doctors suspecting it since I was 14. (TMI warning) What made me go in for the op this year was that it was physically impossible for me to have sex with my boyfriend of 5 years, for over a year. Not the normal deep internal pain that most women feel but an unexplained exterior pain. Anyway that's my story..
What has made me post today is because my rock, my boyfriend, up and left 3 days ago and I am just not coping. He is in a bad place with his dad being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer so I am completely helpless and have no way of making things better.
He is what keeps me going every day and I don't know that I can without him.. We had always planned to get married and (try) have babies.. My hope for a future has literally walked out the door..
How am I meant to explain everything that is wrong with me to another guy and even still find another guy that doesn't mind not having sex very often...

Nothing i can say will make it stop hurting, that will take time.
My husband left me two weeks ago, so trust me, i know what you are going through. I have been reading a lot about how to get through this, and all i keep reading is you have to feel the pain for it to get less.
you will go through so many different emotions, and it will take time. but you will come out of it. (At least that's what i'm hoping, I'm certainly not there, yet).
hang in there. try to do one little thing that makes you happy every day. even if it doesnt make you happy right now, in time it will again.
That was in 1993-94. I think I posted at length of the whole ordeal, and my wicked reaction. I'm not sure how it's archived. You may want to read it (or not) to know that you WILL SURVIVE.
God, it hurts....I'm so sorry for both of your pain and heartache. I was just listening to Sam Smith's "Stay With Me"...got nauseas from crying, 20 years later.

I'm sorry about your boyfriend that really is hard. The only thing that will help though is time, though it is cliche. Try to distract yourself with things and don't worry about someone else quite yet- it's too soon. I hope you're feeling better today :)
Thank you for your replies. As horrible as it is to say I don't feel so alone in this horrible situation anymore, though I don't wish it on anyone.
I took 3 days off work and stayed in bed to just cry. My dr suggested that I go back to work to distract myself so I did that today.
Alana3, vulvodynia and vestibulitis has been investigated thoroughly. Interestingly enough they found endometriosis right down behind my vagina on a nerve that runs through the area I get pain externally. I had no pain for about a month after my surgery and so we know now that that's what it was. The pain is nothing like it used to be now so that's something positive I guess.. Might be worth checking out next time you/if you have surgery?
