Was the extreme pain only when you were urinating or all throughout your pelvic area? How did they determine it was the endo? Just by you describing the pain or did anyone do any ultrasounds or anything? I have had several UTI's (years ago) and they are excruciating but I don't remember having any other specific pain than when trying to pee (felt like razorblades coming out!). If you are still having the pain when peeing after the course of antibiotics is over I would absolutely go back. Have you had symptoms like this before?

The extreme pain at that point had nothing to do with it - I had for some time had discomfort peeing, and more than often it stung, more towards the end of the stream?, but it would go and come back...

It was by chance doing a urine sample they even knew the very onsets of a UTI was coming! (which is kind of lucky really).

I described my pain to the first doctor asking even if it was just for today could I have something stronger as my pain isnt subsiding with the medication I have (panadine forte) and get this.. she told me to go to the chemist and buy over the counter period paid drugs. I was INFURIATED and EXTREMELY insulted, I've never had normal period pain to begin with and no medication over the counter has EVER helped me, I told her this, further more I dont know when it's coming due to the progesterone tablets they have me on! She paid no attention to what I had to say - I took a friend with me, it's like all she heard was "give me drugs" not my descriptions, my history, how long this pain has been around for.

By the end of the night, I was on the floor in tears because 8 panadine forte and 4 over the counter drugs left me feeling like i had overdosed and with NO pain relief what so ever. So after 3 hours sleep, I went back (to a different doctor) and told her my nights experience and atleast she explained that women with endo they are hesitant to give stronger drugs to because they easily become addicted (it's the same with any chronic pain). So, she was nice enough to give me something like my painkillers but a little different maybe I'm so use to it, I havnt had any yet, I havnt felt I should/need to. She also told me if that pain in that severity was to come back I need to go straight to the hospital!

Im prone to UTI's this year/late last year, I had a UTI and ended up in hospital with a kidney infection =( I dont know why or how I get them so often! The pain isnt the pain of a UTI...With me and UTI's its a constant toileting, constant attempts to pee' sharp razorblade stinging and even when im not on the toilet it stings!


I finished the course today - I'm going to monitor it! I've been keeping my diary of everything thats happened, I go back to the professor early June and I want off this stupid progesterone tablets, they arn't doing anything for me!

It sounds an awful lot like IC ( interstitial cystitis ) or painful bladder syndrome. Wait and see what the antibiotics do for you, it shouldn't take too long before you start to feel better. If you don't start to feel better I would take br350's advice, go back to the doctor.

I get painful UTIs. They found that my endometriosis is on my ureter (tube connected to your bladder) which is causing my pain. Did they find any endometriosis on your ureter or maybe it has spread there?

Not from my knowledge...the endo is close to my bowel and it's on one ovary. Maybe it has spread? It sure feels like it. Constant pain daily - and its increasingly getting worse!
