Hi ladies,
I can't find my old post because the DS search engine is down, but I remember a couple of you mentioning that you also had been on norethindrone and discontinued the medicine for various reasons. I stopped taking it last month on the 11th and by the 15th was having a period. I assumed that I would start a period on the 15th this month too, but so far, nothing. Should I be worried? Maybe I'm just being way too paranoid because I haven't had sex in months (back surgery) but my boyfriend was in the general area last month...please tell me I'm just being paranoid.

Oh gosh, yeah don't worry about it! Your body is probably just readjusting to life without hormones there wouldn't be a reason why you'd be regular anymore because the medicine dictated that previously. I say calm down but if you're that worried (which trust me I understand) get a otc preg test to calm you're nerves! I do that all the time and my bf's sperm count is way low haha

Haha ok! I'll wait a little bit and then maybe get one. I think it's fine though (I hope).. Thank for the response, I needed someone other than myself to say that it's not a big deal!

Just out of curiosity, what were the reasons for stopping norethindrone??

Unfortunately I had to stop taking it (for the time being at least) because I have been on it for probably about 7ish years, BC and Lupron before that, and have developed hepatic adenomas. Basically benign tumors on my liver that are rare but can be caused by prolonged hormone use. So for now I'm off of any endo treatment, no norethindrone, no BC, nothing. They say that the tumors should shrink while I'm off the med but the problem is they can't just not treat my endo forever...ugh

I hope it is working for you...it took me a while to figure out the right dose but once we did, I felt the best I had in years. One thing to be aware of is that if you're on a high dose, your body can use the excess to produce estrogen, which fuels endo. I was on 15 mg and having pain, and decreasing to 10 mg actually did the trick. Good luck!
