Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Just wanted to know your thoughts...
So my parents run a hippie dippy farm stand over the summer and quite a bit of the community has come together with them and they sell a bunch of products and produce from our local community.
They've been at me for the past 2 years to sell something down there with them. Last year I tried fudge, but didn't really make much money off of it. I think because my mom, uncle and a few family friends also sell food based products so its too much food competition.
So I did some searching around and was thinking of making and selling soy candles. I found some candle making supplies on ebay mad cheap so start up won't be too much of an issue. However I was just thinking that soy is really bad for endo. I know we should avoid ingesting it, but was wondering if the same was true for working with it? Just wondering how it would be with constantly melting (possible breathing in) and handling it would effect my endo issue? Its unfortunate as I really like the idea of soy as I've had some soy candles before and i like how they burn, maintain scent and color etc...

When I've been researching the soy wax, all of the wholesale and other places that I've looked at say that the wax is 100% soy. So I also like that as well. no fillers. I've also found quite a few online shops that offer organic, cold pressed essential oils and extracts that I can use for scents. I was also looking at either, 100% cotton, hemp, or wooden wicks. Still trying to find a place that sells natural or organic dyes/colors for the candles. I also wanted to make them as eco friendly as possible.
One of the ladies that sells with my parents has dried flowers and herbs so I was thinking of also adding them and sprinkling them on top of the candles for a nice visual. I guess I'll just have to see how it works out working with the soy.
Products now use so many fillers. I was trying to buy natural makeup, but most of the "natural" stuff still has cr@p in it. I just started making my own makeup for personal use, so now I just put in the ingredients I want. I found it's cheaper and I get the exact color I want and the ingredients I want.
I wear gloves and a mask when I mix my makeup. Maybe you could wear some protective gear when you're working with soy? I used to wear goggles too when I made soap.
